OFF Paris Seine

Don’t play God if you can walk on water, that’s probably because you took a room at OFF, the Parisian hotel with rooms floating on the Seine.

November 28, 1988, Jacques Chirac, mayor of Paris from 1977 to 1995 and President of the Republic from 1995 to 2007, promises a decontamination of the Seine river and announces, ‘Within five years, we’ll swim again in the Seine. And I’ll be the first to do so”. His self-confidence and verve still make every Parisian smile. Almost 30 years later, you still can’t swim in the Seine, but you can sleep over it in a chamber at OFF. You can’t bathe in the Seine, but you can do so in the hotel’s pool. OFF’s motto is to exploit the Seine, a space all too often neglected by locals and submerged with tourists.
